The Leadership approach for BuzzerStar 6. Sources of Information 1. I worked as a Perl programmer there (a computer based programming language) and I did a great job. The backend was working with our mobile frontend and we started to prepare presentations to get some business contacts. We wanted to sell your Bitjoe software for some real big money. BuzzerStar should make a lot of things in a different way so that we get the old Bitjoe finally to economic success and I am the product manager for that new case. Presenting BuzzerStar BuzzerStar is the new brand that is used to take the whole technology, source code, protocols, software and presentations from the old Bitjoe Communication GmbH and lead it to economic success. First of all what does this software does? BuzzerStar is software that consists of a backend and a frontend. You chose from one result that fits you best and then the software on your mobile phone starts downloading this song directly to your mobile so that you can listen to it after a successful download. The source (Internet 1) shows how it currently looks and works like. We want to give the user the freedom to pay for the app to get full access or not to pay for the app and use only a cut down version. The premium version goes for 1 for 3 days access and 3 for 7 days access to full version after the 7 days trial. This new paying model is called Free2Pay. This is done in the second year after the relaunch. BuzzerStar is a mobile multimedia download search engine for mobiles and Smartphones with unique and outstanding features that has no other product here in Germany. (Literatur 1) Picture 4 shows how an Innovation process looks like when its done with the help of the Atizo.com Innovation Community. The fifth part is the Innovation process itself, where interesting ideas are collected and being stored for further processing 6. We plan to release 4 stages: 1. Gathering and analysing the results Phase 1: The BuzzerStar product is ready to publish it and therefore needs publicity. The main goal is now to attract people that share their opinion about it. Phase 2: Hyve Innovations currently has the best fitting product range that we are in need of. It is also common to use when people do routine tasks for example in manufacturing. That can lead to problems when team members dont value their advice, because of a might be missing qualification of the team leader. (Internet 3) b. People Oriented Leadership People oriented leadership approaches are focusing on organizing, supporting and developing the people of their teams. Its the opposite of the task oriented leadership. The benefit of this leadership style is that these leaders create teams that everyone wants to take part in or wants to take part in it. Team members are often more productive and willing to take risks because they know that the leader will help then in case of problems. For BuzzerStar members its important to have a good team climate, the possibility to integrate him into the development process and low communication distances. In our Bitjoe Communication GmbH we had such a leader and it didnt work. The negative side effects wont occur here, because we are a team that has been raised for over 6 years right now. I would give outstanding support, like laissez-faire approach, to my team members but its clear: The Job must be done properly. He decides on his own and made a lot of mistakes. In contrast to that, I give tasks, team can work it on their own with my help and they can integrate themselves in the development process. I will organize that process as a product manager. Of course I wont show my team all information to not overload them but I would definitely let them participate. For the future development of BuzzerStar we take the innovation community of Atizo (https://www.atizo.com/). The development will be outsourced then but we need some more input from the market to develop the product direct to the market without getting the same mistakes done like we have done with Bitjoe Communications GmbH. I am the interface between the development team in Germany and the main Indian developers. In this focus I am going to be more autocratic, to help my team make their work and to totally control the work of the Indian programmers, because I think that they need control, guidance and focus. So I use situation based leadership style to coordinate the work of 2 teams with 2 different focuses and 2 different approaches because different cultures occur here. Here the company finally decide what ideas to take into account for their own processing After we have taken a closer look at the Innovation Community process we now want to state how to integrate BuzzerStar project into the Innovation Community. (Internet 3) b. The negative aspect is that it can be damaging if team members dont have a good time schedule or if they dont have the knowledge, skills or motivation to do their work effectively. People Oriented Leadership People oriented leadership approaches are focusing on organizing, supporting and developing the people of their teams. Task Oriented Leadership Task oriented leader only focus on getting the job done and that can be very autocratic. In contrast to that, I give tasks, team can work it on their own with my help and they can integrate themselves in the development process. Integrating the Leadership approach into the Innovation Community process to help promote BuzzerStar BuzzerStar needs the Innovation Community in two ways: To promote BuzzerStar in the Social Media sector For future development of BuzzerStar ( new Protocols, new APIs, IPhone version) For the two aspects we take different Innovation Communities: Hyve (http://www.hyve.de/) is specialized in social media marketing through innovation communities and has the abilities to help us promote BuzzerStar. I am the interface between the development team in Germany and the main Indian developers.
